e-Commerce Recommended Fulfillment Settings by Platform

It's crucial to meet your fulfillment Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) on e-commerce platforms to maintain good account health. Utilize the suggested settings provided for each platform below to ensure compliance with account health metrics.


Walmart Recommended Fulfillment Settings


  • Order cutoff time: set to 12PM
  • Order Lag time: one day
  • Working day: Friday
  • Timezone: EST
  • Shipment transit times:should match the carrier/service selected with Shipping Pilot. By default, Shipping Pilot has these fulfillment carriers allocated to your store:
    • DHL Ground: .01oz - 4lbs
    • FedEx SmartPost: 5lbs - 10lbs
    • UPS Ground: 10lbs - 15 lbs
    • UPS Ground Heavy: 15lbs and up



Amazon Recommended Fulfillment Settings


  • Operating days: Monday-Friday
  • Order cutoff times: 12PM EST
  • Default handling time: two days
  • Shipment transit times:should match the carrier/service selected with Shipping Pilot. By default, Shipping Pilot has these fulfillment carriers allocated to your store:
    • DHL Ground: .01oz - 4lbs
    • FedEx SmartPost: 5lbs - 10lbs
    • UPS Ground: 10lbs - 15 lbs
    • UPS Ground Heavy: 15lbs and up


How to update Amazon Shipping Templates

  1. Log in to Amazon Seller Central
  2. Go to Settings > Shipping Settings
  3. Select the "Shipping Templates" tab and click "edit" at the top right-hand corner

Here is a breakdown of this information based on a real example.


Let’s say that the customer:

Placed an order: Wednesday, December 1 at 2:30PM EST.

Selected standard shipping: Example DHL Ground - .01oz - 4lbs


Your settings:

  • Order cutoff time is set to 2:00PM EST, so the order processing day will start on Thursday, December 2..
  • Your fulfillment lag time assigned to the ordered SKU is set to one day, so the expected ship date (ESD) will be set to Friday, December 3.
  • Your standard shipping transit time is set to four business days in the shipping template.
  • Given the above data, your expected delivery date will be set to Thursday, December 9.
