Once you Create a Product in Packiyo you may need to make changes. This article reviews what changes can be made to a product. Please be advised in most cases, these changes can be made in Shopify and will transfer to Packiyo. However, changes such as changing/creating a kit, applying Hazmat, enabling inventory sync, and a few others will be mentioned below! If you have any questions about the product details page, please reach out to

customercare@shippingpilot.co or submit a ticket.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Packiyo continuously monitors each connected sales channel, like a Shopify store, for products. It automatically creates and synchronizes any products it finds in these connected channels. Please do not change or duplicate the SKUs/listing on your products in your eCommerce channel or Packiyo. Please create a new SKU or listing via your eCommerce platform.

1. Product Details Section:

SKU: (Stock Keeping Unit) is a unique code made of letters and numbers that retailers use to identify each product and keep track of inventory. Packiyo requires this SKU number to import products into its system.

Name: Product identifier for the item you are selling.

Barcode (UPC or other): Product identifier consisting of numbers.

Price: Usually the retail value (optional).

Cost: Usually the wholesale value (optional).

Weight: The product's weight without the packaging. Usually, this is defaulted to pounds or ounces depending on the average weight of your products.

Width, Height, & Length: The product dimensions. Usually, this is defaulted to inches.

Replacement Value: The cost to replace this product (optional).

Reorder threshold: Threshold for the reorder notification

Quantity reorder: Quantity to reorder when threshold is reached.

Quantity reserved: Units "reserved," not taken into account for "available" quantity.

Tags: A customized label that helps organize and categorize items. These tags could be applied manually or automatically by eCommerce platforms via orders or products. (optional)

Product Types:

Regular: A single standalone physical item or a pre-kitted/pre-assembled bundle.

Virtual: items that are not being physically shipped, and do not need their inventory tracked. This is the equivalent of a digital product in your eCommerce store.

Static Kit: A predefined kit that automatically includes specific kit components

Hazmat: HAZMATs include such substances as toxic chemicals, fuels, nuclear waste products, and biological, chemical, and radiological agents. This option will allow you to trigger the Hazama Classification. Please let us know if you will be shipping Hazmat products.

Priority Counting:

Needs Serial Number: This box is triggered if your products have serial numbers that need to be tracked

Enable Inventory Sync: If you would like Packiyo to sync the inventory quantity to your eCommerce channel, this option will need to be triggered

2. Product Barcodes Section:

All the available Barcodes, Quantity, and Descriptions for a particular SKU will be listed here. (It is optional but highly recommended to add barcodes to your products if you have not already).

3. International Orders Section:

This is optional if you are not shipping internationally, outside of the United States.

Customs Price: The monetary worth of imported or exported goods as determined by customs authorities. It's used to calculate duties, taxes, and other charges when goods cross international borders. Please be advised that by default the pricing applied to the custom's form comes directly from the eCommerce channel order details. This is secondary to that pricing.

Country of origin: The country in which the item is manufactured or imported.

HS Code: (Harmonized System) is an internationally recognized system that gives a unique number that classifies the type of goods being shipped.  The customs department of a country defines different regulations, taxes, and duties based on an item's HS code. When shipping internationally the commodities details and HS code are required. Using the incorrect code can lead to an improper tax rate or even rejection by the destination country. For more information please see Calculating International Shipping Rates Costs.

Customs Description: A clear description of the good defining the item for Customs.

4: Notes:

You can leave any notes about the product via the details (optional).

5. Vendor Information

If you have not created your vendor please use the one we created for you. Search by typing "%" in the vendor text field to populate all vendors under your account. Choose your store name if you did not create one of your own. Please be advised that products using different vendors can't be added to the same Purchase Order (PO). Only one vendor per PO. (Required for Inbound Purchase Order Creation).
